– My Experience at Toronto Fashion Week –

I’m so excited to write this post! I originally wanted to write this the other night, but after getting in I almost instantly passed out! It was one of those days that takes everything out of you but also gives you everything you need.

Something I’ve dreamed of since I was about 4 or 5 was fashion. I would get lost in a daydream of colors and clothes and in all honesty, not much has changed. As Muiccia Prada once said, “Style is instant language.” That’s the outlet is has always been. Instant language without speaking. Those few years when I was really finding myself I believe fashion gave me an inner confidence and envoked my truest form of self.

TFW-1A couple days ago a dream of mine which I’ve held onto for so long was was lived and it was truly one of the most satisfying, hectic and crazy experiences but I wouldn’t of had it any other way. I was brought backstage to assist with the organization and production of the “Aussie Takeover” show put on by Convey. The show featured designers from Australia and it all came together beautifully and I’m so thankful to have been part of the experience.

If you follow me on Instagram (which, by the way, you should!!) you probably saw I went a little insta-happy and posted a few pictures from the day. I wanted to share those with everyone, along with some other fun photos I snapped while I had a few rare seconds.

I wore a turtle neck top, python print pants [Babaton], adidas originals (during the day) / Louboutin “So Kate” (night) and a biker jacket [The Kooples]. I kept my hair simple with a slicked back ponytail and fresh makeup with winged eyeliner!

After the show wrapped we grabbed some margaritas and tacos to celebrate and we were off to attend the Hayley Elsaesser show. Experiencing everything that goes on behind the scenes really made me appreciate how a show is orchestrated and I definitely won’t watch a show the same way ever again. Between the constant chaos of models, media and directors, it was amazing to see a side of fashion I hadn’t yet been exposed to. I’m starting to realize I’m most comfortable when there is slight insanity around me.

I hope you enjoyed the photos and I also hope your week is finishing off on a high note!

But duty calls, I’m off to write a midterm – have a lovely day!

xx, A
